Emotional Intelligence is the ability to manage our emotions. The development of this skill should be done by developing the feelings understanding skills first, and empathizing with others. When the one is able to understand and manage his own emotions, then he’ll be able to manage the others.

Researches show that emotional intelligence is a talent that can be enhanced and empowered by training and practicing emotions understanding and controlling technics.
Based on Daniel Goleman an American psychologist, for leaders, Emotional intelligence is the key of success. Daniel says that Emotional intelligence is mainly composed of Self-awareness and regulation, Motivation, Empathy and Social skills.

And the more a leader enhances and empowers these skills, the higher his emotional intelligence will increase and then his power to interact with his team will be enhanced.

So, dear future leaders, work on your emotional intelligence, leave your personal problems at home and manage your emotions at work to be able to gain the respect of your team.
